Defibrillators in Non-Ischemic Cardiomyopathy Treatment Evaluation (DEFINITE)

This randomized study of patients with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy and ventricular ectopy designed to determine if there is any improvement in the length and quality of life between two treatment groups. The first group of patients will receive standard medical management and the second group will receive medical treatment and an implantable cardioverter/defibrillator.

Clinical Protocol for a Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Trial Evaluating the Safety and Efficacy of Eplerenone in Heart Failure following Acute Myocardial Infarction (EPHESUS)

The objective of this trial is to compare the effect of a new medication (eplerenone) plus standard therapy versus standard therapy alone on survival rates for patients who experience heart failure in the immediate (3-28 day) post myocardial infarction period.
